  • When should I order?
    Book 6–12 months in advance—peak dates fill fast! Need a last-minute order? Contact us.
  • How do I order?
    Submit a wedding inquiry to inquire or book a consultation. More details in our Wedding Guide HERE.
  • Do you offer cake tastings and consultations?
    Yes! We offer online consultations and tasting boxes: Tasting Box – $45 (pickup) / $60 (Calgary delivery). Includes four signature flavours. No consultation required. Consultation + Tasting – $75. A 45-minute video call + a tasting box (Calgary delivery). Includes a $30 credit for orders over $350. Icebreaker Session – Free 15-minute call for early-stage planning (no quotes provided). Availability: Tasting boxes are available monthly for pickup or delivery in Calgary. Send in an inquiry to get the ball rolling for any of these options!
  • How much does a wedding cake cost?
    Wedding cakes range from $8.45–$14.35+ per serving. Add-ons (e.g., flowers, dessert favours, faux tiers) may increase pricing. See Page 7 of our Wedding Guide for details.
  • How do I know what size cake to order?
    Serving sizes depend on your guest count and cake style. See Page 7 of our Wedding Guide for portion recommendations.
  • Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
    Gluten-Friendly Options: Available but not guaranteed 100% gluten-free due to potential cross-contamination. Vegan & Dairy-Free: Not available. Nut Policy: We do not bake with nuts but cannot ensure products are nut-free. For specific dietary requests, email info@blackdogbakery.ca before booking a consultation.
  • Is there a minimum order?
    Calgary Delivery: $400 + delivery Outside Calgary Delivery: $500 + delivery Small cutting cakes are available for pickup under the minimum order.
  • What flavours do you offer?

  • Can we have multiple flavours?
    Yes! $10 per extra tier flavour. Off-menu flavours may have an additional charge.
  • Do you offer other wedding desserts?
    Yes! We make cookies, favours, cupcakes & more. Options in our Wedding Guide HERE.
  • How does the delivery work?
    We coordinate delivery & setup with your planner/venue. Setup is included in the delivery fee, and your cake will be ready before your big entrance!
  • Do you rent cake stands and cutting utensils?
    Yes! Rental fees and deposits are required. Find full details in our Wedding Guide HERE.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    For cancellations before the 15-business-day deadline, the 50% retainer is non-refundable but may be transferred as a credit in some cases. Full details will be discussed in your consultation.
  • How do I pay?
    Under $350: Full payment required at time of booking. Over $350: 50% retainer, balance due 15 business days before your wedding.
